About the Artist
I am a mixed-media and fiber artist. My art is influenced by children's books illustrations, vintage toys, and the whimsy and special childlike quality of some of the work of favorite artists such as Alexander Calder,Pablo Picasso. I also love the line work, patterns, and colors of Henri Matisse's paintings.
Ellifolks Bears and Critters:
I love fabrics and fiber -- the beautiful colors and luscious textures. I am drawn to animal imagery in my work, and my mohair and wool critters give me the chance to create the images that are dancing in my head in a solid, three-dimensional form.
I turn my drawings into three-dimensional fiber critters. Designing the pattern is like piecing a puzzle and finally getting everything to work right together. I love working with fine mohair, wool, and other natural fibers.
My Ellifolks critters have a whimsical, primitive look. They are hand made by me with much care and attention to detail using natural materials such as beautiful German mohairs and 100% wools. They are hand dyed and/or hand colored and gently aged. I give them much attention to detail including scissor-sculpting, and draped and stitched accessories. All Ellifolks critters come from a smoke-free environment.

Thank you for coming to visit!
