Tagged- Six Random Things About Me

6randomthingspurpleblog

I have been tagged by the very talented and equally sweet Danish bear artist, Tina, of Tiny Bears to tell six random things about me.

 Ok, here goes –  :-)

  1. Ever since I was a kid, I have been a board game fanatic.  I love the graphics used on the board and in the cards and the sculptural quality of the playing pieces.  I love playing the games and have a huge collection (including several vintage games).
  2. My favorite pizza is anchovy and bacon — Yumm!  (But for some reason I have trouble finding people who want to share.)
  3. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri – and miss it a lot.
  4. I have a small, but much beloved collection of Dal and Blythe dolls.
  5. I have two French speaking penpals — one from France and one from Canada.  I talk to the Canadian penpal on Skype every week  – a half hour in English and a half hour in French.
  6. I talked briefly to Liam Neeson when he was filming “The Good Mother” (1988 – one of his first U.S. movies) with Diane Keaton in Cambridge, Ma.   I always remembered how nice he was to a stranger.  I followed his career and was  so happy to see him become a major Hollywood star.

  • Hey there! Wow, c’est fantastique! Je voudrais apprendre le japonais. But I had never even thought of getting a skype penpal! I loved reading all these facts about you. Even the bacon and anchovies — I’m sure it’s pretty good. It’s the basis for some really good pasta sauce, right?

I’m sorry you had trouble leaving a comment. Unfortunately, I’m pretty clueless when you ask for a name and url option. Huh? :(

And thanks for the tag! Hmmmm, I’ll have to think really hard to dig up some even remotely interesting facts….

  • Hey, Bella! Est-ce que tu parles le français, aussi? We could talk on Skype some time. :0) I found my penpals though FriendsAbroad, but it’s being taken over by Babbel now. You might be able to find a Japanese penpal there to speak Japanese.

Yes, to me it’s the best, and I didn’t even think about it being ingredients in a yummy pasta sauce. The only other person I know who loves the same combination is my cousin, and he lives in St. Louis.

When I go to make a comment on a Blogger blog, I see options for choosing an identity: Google/Blogger, Open ID (which has an option for WordPress.com but it won’t accept my WordPress.org url), Name/url, and Anonymous. I don’t see Name/url option on yours. Maybe just settings have to be changed if you wanted to do it.

    Have fun with the tag!

  • Hi again! Mais, non. I only studied French in high school and have forgotten much of it. One day, I’d love to brush up on it again. It is such a beautiful language. I live next to the French Embassy, and I hear people speaking it all the time. :)

Ok, I checked my settings and have made it so anyone, even anonymous, can comment. I hope that works!

    Thanks again!

  • I enjoyed reading here, especially the part about Liam Neilson. I just saw him on television talking about his new movie.

I love art and ALL crafts and am a book pig.

  • Oh boy, talk about viral. Those random thing tags are everywhere on personal blogs and social networks. The one on Facebook is 25 random things. I actually came up with 25 but I am not sure if I am brave enough to post them. I can be quite shy! The whole reason the random things is running wild across the internet is that it is interesting and it helps personify that person behind the computer screen.
Did I mention that I love anchovies on my pizza too!
    Bean

  • Thank you for the nice comments, Adele! I love the term “book pig” (lol) – I’m one, also.

Hi Bean! :-) Yes, it was hard to find people who hadn’t already participated. I think my daughter also did it on Facebook. I don’t think I could think of 25, though.

Yea, for anchovies!! Maybe we can share a pizza some time. :o )

  • I love old board games too – have you seen the one called ‘Ulcers’? It’s bilingual french and english – you have to run a business and appoint staff and the drawings of the secretaries, sales managers etc. are brilliant. It’s from the 1970s.

  • I haven’t heard of it, But ‘Ulcers’ sounds wonderful!! I’ll have to go look for it now. :-) I love vintage games.

  • Bet they’ll have it on ebay! Thanks for your nice comments on my blog…
    Jane

  • Yes, I found it on eBay. Not too expensive, either. :-) The graphics on the cards are really funny! It reminds me of the suspect cards in the Lie Detector game. Have you seen that one? It’s from the 50′s and has a “lie detector machine” that helps you eliminate suspects.
